Drumroll Please.....

Hi everybody! Sorry I've been so MIA recently. Normally my job is pretty predictable, but the last two weeks have been really hectic! I'm very proud though, because I've completed my first bulletin board for the department. This is one of my duties now that I work in the Children's department. I've taken some pictures of the board to share:

When the display is over (after Thanksgiving I'll put up a Winter theme) I'm giving this elephant to B for his office.

From late October through November 4, we're having our very own election! I bought a ballot box with the "Vote for Books" theme and the kids will vote on their favorite book. We haven't made up the ballots yet, but I'm sure it will include some of the more popular series like Harry Potter, Spiderwick and Series of Unfortunate Events. This was all my idea, and I'm really hoping the kids will respond! I'm so glad that the board actually came together as well as it did, I was really nervous!

Oh, what a wonderful display!

Congrats on doing such a great job...and more importantly, for having such a good idea to get the kids involved. They love doing what the 'big people' are doing, and voting is perfect. Besides, a little civics lesson at an early age never hurt!

Good for you!

I ADORE that idea. Way to get the kids civicly engaged and aware AND encourage reading. Fab job!
