I'm a copy-cat!

Running Just As Fast As I Can did a re-introduction post yesterday, and I thought it was a great idea!

So let me (re)introduce myself (does that makes anyone else want to sing a Jay-Z song? Hmmm.)!

I'm from Michigan. I was born in Grosse Pointe, which is where my preppy roots began. I think the city is actually referenced in this book:I graduated from Michigan State University in 2006. I was a Kappa Delta there.
Isn't it a pretty campus?

I'm 25% Polish, 25% Italian, and almost half Irish with a bit of Russian mixed in. My last name is actually Russian. I think I look most Irish. My mother (below) is half Italian and half Polish. She can clearly get a tan....
Here we are a few years ago on her birthday.
And here I am with my dad, who lives in Naples, Florida. Sorry for the lame picture. This was on a visit in 2006 (I had red hair then) and we were on an air boat in the Everglades (one of my favorite places). I lived with my dad until he moved about 4 years ago. I miss him terribly.
Here is my fiance, B (Bub is my real life nickname for him!). In nine days he will be my husband!

Here is my family:
Then:
And now:
As you may have noticed, we gained a sister, Samantha, who is 20. From left we have, Dr. Z, Gina Bean, moi, Saman, and Noah (or NoNo as we called him when we were little. Sometimes I still do). Its complicated because my dad and stepmom are now divorced (though still on great terms). We are all still very close and a tight knit family. I'll have my mother, my father and my former stepmother all in the front row at our wedding, and everyone pictured above is in the wedding party.

Our home:
We bought this condo in Birmingham, Michigan last Spring and I love it! I grew up one town over, so I feel very comfortable here. I'd only ever leave if we were moving somewhere warmer!

Things I love:I've always loved ballet. Its my "sport". I took a break from it, but I'm back in class now, and it is probably one of the best decisions I've made in a long time! I felt a little hole in heart without it. Luckily B liked going to the ballet (twice last season), so we can do that together.I love to cook and bake. And I've been improving so much recently! In another life, I think I'd have been a baker or a chef.I love to read (though I don't normally do this activity in a bathtub!), and I work in a library, so its really the perfect job for me! I also like Kate Moss.Exercise (how funny is this picture?), and just moving my body!

I don't have any pets (yet), but I am really wanting a little guy just like this:
Hear that, B? :) I'd just need to monogram that little polo, and we'd be all set!

Thanks Alexandra, this was really fun. And, I hope any readers who are new, or were just curious, know a little bit more about me and my entertaining life.

Oh my god! I love this post! I may be copying you now! That was such a great idea!

I want a westminster terrier as well! I love the one in the Target commercial. I think I need to quit buying animals though...

This really *is* a great reintroduction, especially for those of us who haven't been reading you as long as others, thank you! The similarities with Torch Lake Prep are wacky, how amazing is that?

You already know our family is half in the Pointes and half in BH, so we're familiar with your corner of the globe! Actually, tomorrow I am coming down to take TQM to see The September Issue in B'Ham, and wish I could come by and say 'hey' to you at work! (Although this close to your wedding you may be close to taking time off...?)

Big hugs to you Miss Princess, we do love popping in to visit, it is always fun!

This was so much fun to read! I'm so excited for you: 9 more days! Wow! Reading is one of my favorite things. I have dvds and do ballet workouts at home; still wondering when I will be more flexible, I envy you ;-) I love the grace of ballet, unlike many workouts, I feel like a lady while practicing it ;-)
