The Golden Globes

How excited was I last night when Julianna Margulies won a Golden Globe last night for her role in The Good Wife? As I stated here, I really think Alicia Florrick is the best female character on television right now. This opinion was further cemented this weekend as B and I caught up on a few back episodes of Grey's Anatomy. OMG! What a bunch of whiny complainers! I am so tired of listening to Meredith and her gang bitch and moan about their lives! Alicia Florrick has room to complain and instead she keeps her eyes focused ahead and handles her shiz. Grey's is certainly entertaining to watch, but it stops at entertainment. The Good Wife gets me thinking. Alicia Florrick is a role model...Lord help us if American women find Meredith Grey to be a role model!

So here are some of my favorite gowns from last night. Please bear with me as I can be a little vicious when it comes to opinions on celebrities.

Julianna Margulies: obviously I love her, and I think her dress was stunning. Age appropriate, yet still ooozing sex appeal. I also love the color and cut.

January Jones: I really love January Jones, and while I like this gown, she played it a bit safe. The headband is interesting. I love headbands, and would totally rock this look. However, after she wore this last Fall to the Emmy's, I guess I was a little let down.

Kate Hudson: Looked great as usual. I love the unique cut of this dress. She always looks stunning in white.

Sandra Bullock: I'm SO happy she won for her role in The Blind Side. I think that movie is the best movie I've ever seen, and I was thrilled she won. I hope she gets the Oscar as well. She looked beautiful in this color, and again, I'm glad she wore a dress appropriate for her age. Nothing bothers me more than when gorgeous women dress either too old or too young. Just because you can wear something doesn't always mean your should.
Sofia Vergara: How funny is Modern Family? B and I die laughing every week while we watch this show. Sofia is so beautiful and of course hilarious! Love her in this Carolina Herrera gown.
Christina Agularia: Homegirl can SING, but I normally think she's overrated and looks like she's wearing a clown mask. Seriously, enough with the red lipstick! Your name is not Gwen Stefani. She always struck me as the kind of girl who wears lots of warpaint makeup and looks ok, but wasn't someone who would look great first think in the morning or running errands after the gym. I was wrong. She looked so pretty last night with a more natural look. And her dress was really cool.

Emily Blunt: is so darn cute! She and John Krasinski are so cute. Emily is in her 20s and I think this look is perfect for someone her age. I love the dress and the color on her. And I also love her hair down and wavy.
Christina Hendricks: Holy bubbies! I mean, WOW. However, this dress doesn't seem to fit her correctly. Is it me, or is it too small on top? I do think she is one of the most stunning women on television right now (Mad Men in general has the hottest cast), and I love her curves, which this dress surely accentuates. I hope to not offend anyone, but it really bothers me when women who are overweight are referred to as "curvy" (there are several celebrities that fall into this category...I'm sure you know who I mean). Overweight is not "curvy", its overweight. Referring to overweight women as "curvy" like its a good thing is ridiculous! Many of these women are at risk for diseases like heart disease and diabetes. I don't really care if calling them curvy makes them feel better, its not the proper definition!

Christina Hendricks is curvy. See her arms? Healthy. See her waist? Healthy. See her face/neck? Thin, and she only has one neck! She has an hour glass figure, which is the proper definition for "curvy".
Thank you stopping by today. I'd love to hear who wore your favorite looks last night!

I wish January would have kciked it up a notch. I liked the dress and the headband, but not together.

Can you believe I haven't seen 1 episode of Mad Men? I'm going to borrow it from my parents (they have it on DVD)!

Hope you had a nice weekend =)

I was glad for both Julianna Margulies and Sandra Bullock. (Yay for a new Good Wife episode tonight!) I haven't seen The Blind Side, but how can you not love Sandra Bullock?

I also agree with you on Kate Hudson and Sofia Vergara. I tend to admire the way Kate pulls off the "no curves whatsoever" look, but she was precious trying to stunning and adventurous trying to get herself some shape for the Globes. Also, Sofia Vergara is both hilarious and beautiful! Modern Family is great.

Sandy & Kate were 2 of my faves!!! I wasn't crazy with the color of Sofia's dress, but her show is HILARLOUS!!! And as for Christina, her boobs are HUGE!! And her top was small. Not a great mix.

sooooo according to www.goodplasticsurgery.com, her bubbies are fake! they are insanely huge! also while i do think she is beautiful and her bone structure/smile is beautiful, i wish she would do somethign with her teeth. i'm not sure if i'm just used to everyoen having veneers, or if she smokes and that's why they have that greyish tint, but i feel like it's a big detractor. she did look beautiful, but her bubbies were a little tacky in my opinion.

Loved Kate Hudson's dress and Sandra Bullock's, as well!

I can't tell you how much I agree with the "curvy" thing! Whenever they have specials in magazines that tell you how to dress for your body type, the woman pictured for "curvy" is always plus-sized, and not even curvy at all. I'm curvy and don't weigh more than 110lbs... FRUSTRATING! Haha.
