Shopping won't cure endometriosis.

Every Spring, like clockwork, I get the shopping bug. I think I'm like a squirrel, except when I emerge from hibernation, I do it in style! HAHA!

The Minnie Pant
J.Crew says if you buy one pant this season, it should be the Minnie. I have to agree. What a flattering cut! I bought my pair in black, but I'm heading back for gray and khaki.
I also bought a bright red pea coat from J.Crew. This coat was $129.99 down from $250.00. I was going to get navy, but I decided to do something outside my comfort zone of black, white, gray and navy, so I got red. Its such a pretty color, and the "tall" size is perfect for my 5'9 frame! Sleeves are always too short on me, and especially with coats, but this coat fits perfectly.

Another Springtime ritual is that I have an ultrasound. I don't know if I've yet shared that I have endometriosis. I wouldn't be surprised if half my readers are now thinking, "Me too!", while the other half is thinking, "What's that?". I didn't know what it was either, but after discussing this with friends, I've found that its really common. A few of my friends also have it. In March of 2007, I had a laparoscopy to remove the endometriosis and ovarian cysts. My doctor told me it would come back (taking B.C. has slowed down the process), and it is.....with attitude! As I write this, I am experiencing some of the most severe cramps I've ever had. In fact, at 1:00 am I awoke to a sharp pain that lasted all night. Last week, I had an ultrasound, and my doctor found more cysts. We plan to wait out the summer and schedule another laparoscopy in the Fall. This isn't a really big deal. The procedure is quick, and I'd be back to normal in a day or two. The thing that freaks me out is that there is no cure for endometriosis. Taking B.C. only slows it down. I requested a book from another library that hasn't yet arrived called Endometriosis: A Key to Healing Through Nutrition. I'm hoping this book will help me to do more to control this irritating condition I have.

I love those pants, I've have to check them out!

Are y'all planning on children? I think the sooner the better as far as the endometriosis is concerned. Not that it's any of my business. :)

Yep the sooner the better if planning children... you should give it a try at the end of the summer ;) They'll be awfully cute!!!

I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy though. XOXO

Aw, I'm sorry Miss Princess, it sounds excruciating. I wish I could make you feel better. :(
Hugs to you,

There is no cure, but having children can help slow the progression for a while.
Well, the cure is a hysterectomy and that is no fun.

I have been there too I had it in 2002 and had the laproscopy surgery to remove it. I then had my appendix out last March and they confirmed there was no longer any endometriosis. It is always good to talk to your doctor, but the only thing that worked for me was getting OFF of birth control. What used to take me out of work nearly my entire period has now been eradicated. I know this is the most insane thing. I had one doctor tell me he wanted to put me into menopause for a while (I was 24) and then all but one doctor I went to told me I was making a really bad decision to stop taking BC when it came to endometriosis, but it is the only thing that worked for me. I hope you aren't in too much pain.

Oh man! I am so sorry to hear that you are going through that. I can only imagine the pain that must cause you. Good luck with everything involved with that and I hope your book gives you some new ideas for helping that condition.

I love everything you bought!

I've always wanted to try the Minnie but haven't because I don't know if I have the right body type for it! I'll just have to try them on now :)

So sorry to hear what you're going through. How did you find out you had it? Sending hugs your way!

wow the minnie pant is flattering? as a fellow tall-ie (5'8) even i'd shied away from pants that make your legs look shorter, but with your recommendation i may go try them on when i get home! and i think you will LOVE that jacket - people always compliment statement jackets, and that peacoat is a gorgeous one! i hope that your pain goes away - i had heard of endometriosis before but didn't realize how common it was. i have said a little prayer for you!

I have had the same exact probs with endo. I had 5 lap's before having my first child in 2004. I then went on injections, had the ovarian cysts too, had my left ovary removed because of them and then got pregnant with my second and last child. I had a hysterectomy a year ago. I am only 30 and I feel your pain. Completely. Better to plan kids sooner than later!

I would love to talk about it. Seems that we struggle(d) with the same exact issues, pain and everything!!! I know some tricks and helpful things that will help you!!!

Let me know!

Oh girl! I remember THAT pain. Had it! It's just awful. I put up with it for over 15 years, never really knowing in the beginning what it was! When I eventually had a hysterectomy {for other issues}, I was glad it was over! I hope that your M.D. can treat it.
