Rima Fakih, miss Michigan 2010, won the Miss USA pageant last night! As a former pageant contestant, I couldn't be happier to see Miss Michigan take the crown!!!! What a beautiful woman, with a great sense of humor. I think she'll do a great job as Miss USA.
I thought the pageant in general was incredible last night! The top were out of this world! When Donald Trump first bought the pageant, I wasn't sure what to expect, but in the last several years, I think he has turned it into what it really should be, 51 beautiful young women having fun! I felt that last night's show was modern in a way that it failed to be before Donald took over. It is about beauty, fitness, and beautiful gowns....Once a woman has been crowned (either at the state or national level) it is much more than just beauty and fitness, as the winner travels the globe promoting breast and ovarian cancer awareness and cancer survivors. I'm so glad to see Donald's vision for the pageant come to fruition.
I was also a huge fan of the 1st Runner-Up, Miss Oklahoma, Morgan Elizabeth Woolard. She had a gorgeous gown, and I liked her answers. She answered in such a way that I can be pretty sure she's conservative politically, which I obviously appreciate. She also said her father is a small business owner, as was mine, and that helped to shape my political views growing up too.
Who watched? Were you all happy with the outcome? Once we got down to the Top Five, I would have been happy with any of the women taking the crown, but I couldn't be happier that Miss Michigan was able to do it this year!
