Traditions

Christmas traditions come in all forms. I've always enjoyed Christmas movies, and as I've gotten older, I've made my own tradition of watching a Christmas movie while I wrap gifts. Last night, B and I watch Christmas Vacation and wrapped our gifts.

This is one of my all time favorite comedies, and have so many memories of watching this growing up with my family and all cracking up. There is something in this movie for everybody, young and old. Here are just a few of my favorite scenes and quotes from the film. There are really too many to include, so I just did a few:

Ellen: Welcome to our home - what's left of it.
This is the best! Mrs. Griswald, trying to maintain perfect manners....

Ellen: What are you looking at?
Clark: Oh, the silent majesty of a winter's morn... the clean, cool chill of the holiday air... an asshole in his bathrobe, emptying a chemical toilet into my sewer... [Eddie, in the driveway, is draining the RV's toilet]
Eddie
: Shitter was full.
Clark
: Ah, yeah. You checked our shitters, honey?
Ellen
: Clark, please. He doesn't know any better.
Clark
: He oughta know it's illegal. That's a storm sewer. If it fills with gas, I pity the person who lights a match within ten yards of it.

Clark: Hey, Kids, I heard on the news that an airline pilot spotted Santa's sleigh on its way in from New York City.
Eddie: [after a pause] You serious, Clark?

There are so many great Christmas movies. Every year, my husband and I watch Love Actually and Christmas Vacation. I also LOVE Home Alone! I plan to buy it this year to add to the tradition.

I hope you all have a great weekend. My dad arrives tomorrow, and I can't wait to celebrate my sister's graduation! I also hope to bake a little this weekend, so I can give some cookies as gifts to co-workers and other friends. Cheers, it's alomost Christmas!

I absolutely LOVE this movie. It's part of our Christmas tradition, too. Hilarious!

I watched "Love Actually" again, today, as I was cleaning my basement. I seriously can't get enough of that movie!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend with your family.
