Running of the Brides

This afternoon, I'm leaving work early to head to Chicago to spend the weekend with my KD sisters and roomies from college. My friend AEH is getting married this Fall, and I'm a bridesmaid! Friday morning, AEH, her sister and I will be attending the Running of the Brides in Chicago. BKQ, who lives in Wrigleyville will be joining us in the afternoon after she finishes up with work. We also have appointments at several other Chicago Bridal Boutiques on Saturday.

When AEH asked me if I was interested in going to Running of the Brides, I had no idea what it was. So I googled......

I sincerely hope we do not run into the above woman. Wow. WOW.

If you look through Google Images, there are more pictures for this event, and it looks intense! We figure we will get there early, but not at 6:00am. Some people actually camp out. I found when wedding dress shopping, a stressful environment doesn't always allow for the best decision to be made. It will be such an adventure either way, and who knows, she might find the perfect gown! If not, I'm sure we will find may options on Saturday, and maybe even see some bridesmaid dresses.

I am so honored that AEH asked me to be a part of her wedding party. I've only been in one other wedding (aside from my own). When I was 11, my aunt had be as a junior bridesmaid when she got married. This is my first time being a bridesmaid for a friend, and it should be such a fun Summer and Fall celebrating!

I actually graduated from High School with AEH's fiance. She met him at college. The funniest thing about it is that he lived in her town when he was a kid and they were in the same second grade class. He recognized her at a party. She thought he was nuts, but when she called her mom to look in her grade school yearbook, sure enough, he was in her class! Such a small world! The wedding will be great because people we've known since High School will be there as well as college, and we've all stayed in touch.

That sounds like so much fun. From what I've seen on t.v., just grab whatever you can! I can't wait to hear how it all turns out.

Have a great time in Chi-Town. Fun, fun, fun!

Omg, you are going! Watch out, it's a mad house! HA! HA!

Have fun, at least you won't be under pressure to find the "perfect" dress! It's a pretty serious event, lol!

Have a great trip, the weather should be okay!
