Oh, Wow.

My surgery went well on Friday. However, my recovery has taken much longer then I expected. I'm finally feeling like myself again today! This year has been crazy for me health wise. Two surgeries and strep throat! I really hope I'm home free now.

Last Thursday, I met with a local talent and modeling agency. I'm still waiting for my retouched photos....I'm dying to see them! The meeting went well, but it wasn't what I had expected. The agent encouraged me to take acting lessons. I was sort of taken aback, because I'm not an actress nor do I have unrealistic expectations to be come an actress. I'd love to model. I'd love to work the auto show circuit and speak on a platform about cars. I think some speech classes might help.

After thinking more about the meeting, I think I understand why the agent got so excited about the possibilities of acting for me. I'm outgoing. And, I'm 28. I literally have nothing to lose, so I went into the meeting and was just myself. I think she is often in meetings with younger girls who are terribly shy. If I were 16, I can assure you, I'd still be my outgoing self. I'm just not afraid of situations like meeting an agent. Maybe I've learned enough in my life to know that there are truly scary things, and meeting a woman who can help me earn some extra money is not one of them! :) Either way, being outgoing isn't enough to make an actress out of me!

Once my pictures are finished, I'll post them for you all! And, I'll be able to visit more agencies. I did end up signing with the agency on Thursday and already had a job opportunity, though i was way too sore from the surgery to try to go for it. This is such uncharted territory for me, but so far, so good!
