I've also been baking quite a bit! I made Apple Crisp and Apple Pie-Cake, both recipes from Martha Stewart.

I also bought some parsnips at the grocery store last week. Have you ever tried parsnips? I love them! I often add them to stews or roasts when I make them in the crock pot. They cook like carrots and have a lovely flavor.
Here is the recipe I plan to try:

I really love the emails from Martha Stewart, especially when they consist of recipes with whatever items is in season: apples right now, rhubarb in the Spring, pumpkin, melon, ect. Typically, I remove myself from all email lists, but not Martha's!
I have such a busy couple weeks ahead. I'm in a wedding a week from Saturday, have a few modeling things in the works, and also my husband is super busy at work, which in turn, makes me feel even busier! Doesn't it just seem like Fall flies by? Before I know it, it'll be my birthday!

Another great way to eat parsnips is in mashed potatoes. Peel 'em, cut 'em in small pieces, and add them to the potatoes when you boil. Drain and mash all together. Yum.
I went to the orchard, too. I've been making apple treats like crazy.
Yes, the apples do taste better this time of year. In fact, I usually only eat them in the fall. :)
