Last night at work, I was unpacking new children's books, and I came across this book cover:
I just think this is the most beautiful picture. I'd like a similar one taken of me at my wedding.
Speaking of which, B spoke to the church and it seems the only available time for our ceremony is 12:00pm. I was hoping for the 2:00pm slot, but its already taken. I just hope our guests don't get too bored between the end of the ceremony (around 1:00-1:30pm) and the reception (starting around 6:00-6:30pm)! I haven't been to that many weddings, but none of the ones I have attended had such an early ceremony. I'm sure this will work out better for me. I think I'll be less stressed taking pictures. I'm just concerned about our guests. Has anyone been to an early ceremony? What are your impressions on this?

This is a TOUGHIE. Maybe arrange something the guests could do until the ceremony? I just don't know!
It was so hard for us to co-ordinate everything. We did a 6:00 ceremony and then the reception immediately afterwards.
Good luck getting everything planned!
Is there a local attraction that you could get your guests comp'd/discounted into? Zoos, museums, neat parks. Make a quick guide for your guests of 3-5 things to do between wedding and ceremony. I know it's more work for you, but they'll really appreciate that. And most museums/local attractions will be willing to work with you for a group.
It is a hard situation and makes a long day for guests. If you have that long of a break it is nice to have a place for guests to relax and enjoy each other - maybe a hotel room with drinks and snacks?
i have been to a couple of weddings done that way, they all worked out. one of the last weddings which i stood up in had everyone over for a luncheon, of course everything was catered. i am sure you will figure out something!!
That's a hard situation. I agree- have ideas listed that they can do to fill their time (while considering their wedding attire) and also maybe have a suite at the reception hotel that has drinks and snacks provided for guests during that time. A place for friends to gather and chat if they don't have a car avail or just don't want to run around town. THe key is to have things for them to do so that you don't lose them before the reception.
We had an 11:00 ceremony and then a luncheon reception, which I thought worked out well. Apparently, that is the English way - who knew! Keep us posted on what you decide. And that is a gorgeous picture on the book cover. Who is the bride? Heather/Grace303
Oh sorry, I see now that it is Grace Kelly on the picture. Heather/Grace303
I can just imagine your beautiful face in that lovely wedding shot!
Yes, time of wedding is a difficult choice. It is limited by the church for sure. Daughter and I experienced that problem.
Actually, I think the early ceremony with a few hours before reception is a great idea. Guests can rest, freshen up, etc. It would have worked for us since lots of our guests were in Hilton where we were. The church, Hilton, and reception were so close it would work. You are going through the tough choices right now!
xoxo!
