Tasting

I completely forgot to take pictures! I had my camera and everything. Grrr. The tasting went really well though! We decided on coconut shrimp, crab cakes and vegetable spring rolls for the cocktail hour. We may add another option, like sushi at a later date. For the dinner, we chose to do a split plate rather then put an option on the response cards. This makes it much simpler for me! We will serve a filet and roasted whitefish in a caper cream sauce with these a-m-a-z-i-n-g potatoes that are baked with cheese and bacon ( a specialty of our venue), asparagus and purple cabbage. The plate will be colorful and delicious! There will also be a salad and bread, obviously. We're serving cake for dessert. We went to one of two possible bakery options and found some great options. I decided to do a cupcake cake for my shower and stick with a traditional wedding cake for the reception.

Our rehearsal dinner will be at the restaurant that is next to our reception venue, The Reserve. Its called Big Rock and its actually a converted train station. Very cool. Here are some pictures of where the Rehearsal Dinner will be held.
This room opens up to the patio.
We will be serving chicken oscar with garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli and a pesto tomato. I'm ordering a GOP elephant cake for B's groom's cake which we will serve as dessert.

Needless to say, this was one of the best parts of the wedding planning process to date! B and I had such a nice time. I will update you on the Natural Family Planning Seminar as well as Romeo & Juliet, which we saw preformed by American Ballet Theatre last night soon!

Yummy! We are also doing a "duet" for the main course instead of asking people to chose ahead of time. Cute groom's cake :)

I was so distracted today I didn't even ask what food you chose. It's sounds AMAZING! I'll have to tell E to bring a big purse and sneak me some shrip and vegetable rolls lol
