Thank you

Thank you for all your advice on my wedding favor dilemma! I'm not sure that I was very clear...I am no D.I.Y. bride! I am buying already made apples and simply putting them in cello baggie and tying a ribbon around the top! I've always wanted to make homemade caramel apples, but my wedding is no place to start! Placing a pre-made apple into a baggie is about as "hands-on" as I'm going to get! Also, my sister, mother, fiance, and two bridesmaids are available to help me.

I think what I'm going to do is head over to the Cider Mill tomorrow and see about ordering the caramel apples from them. If its too expensive, I'll gust buy the 6 packs at Kroger (6 for $5.00) the week of the wedding and stick them in my fridge. I plan to do a trial run this weekend to see how messy it is to package them in the bags. I think if I refrigerate them for an hour or so before I place them in the bag, they won't be messy at all, because they'll be cold and the caramel will be hardened. Wish me luck!

I've been such a busy wedding bee lately, that I haven't been commenting too much on all your blogs! I'm so sorry! I am reading via my iPhone, though, and hopefully this weekend, i can get all caught up with your lives!

I have been really working hard to get things done now, so that the week of the wedding my only concern will getting the favors bagged, my nails done, and to enjoy myself! I'm not a last minute person, that's why I was so torn about the favors in the first place. I feel confidant that I can do them because all the other little last minute things are going to be done already. I hired an artist to design our wedding programs and the seating scroll. The programs look beautiful, but we're just going to use staples to hold them together. I know a ribbon might be nicer, but like I said...I'm not that D.I.Y.! Do you think staples are tacky? I will post a picture of them soon.

I'm off work tomorrow, and I'll be running more errands for the wedding! B is also picking up our Marriage License tomorrow! Yay!

One more piece of good new? The State Legislator saved the Michigan State Fair! Now I can enter the baking competition in 2010! What fun!

In that case, I think that you can do it without a problem. Good Luck getting everything done. I'm definitely with you, I'm not DIY person or last minute person, so I can understand that it might be stressful! :)

There is nothing inherently tacky about a staple:).

big breath and one thing at a time- it'll all come together :)

you're right about your wedding not being the time to make those apples the first time ever and your guests will still highly appreciate the gesture and the novelty of the caramel apples either way :)

keep on kickin' rear

I am glad you are feeling better about the favors! About the staples...I would have to see them to see what they look like. However, I really don't think I would like them. Get your bridesmaid to help with the ribbons. It will be prettier! I am sure whatever you do will look nice though!

Yeah, if you are already purchasing them made, NO BIGGIE! You can definitely get them done yourself. i think refridgerating them first isa great idea!

And Woohoo For the state fair!
