Father's Day

My dad lives in Naples, Florida, so I haven't been able to spend Father's Day with him in a few years. We speak on the phone, and my youngest sister who lives in Florida spends the day with him. The distance can be hard sometimes, but we make the best of it.

This year, I spent the day with my grandfather who is 92. He's currently living at a rehab type retirement home. He had open heart surgery in March of 2009, and his health has been a roller coaster ever since. He is doing pretty well now though, and opted to stay at the rehab to work on his physical therapy. I think it helps him feel like his days are full and he had purpose. When he's done, he'll move back in with my aunt. My grandmother is living there too. Its a very busy house right now as she and her husband have a 6 year old, a 3 year old and are expecting their third baby next month! *UPDATED TO ADD* This does read as though my grandmother is pregnant. She's not! haha! My aunt is expecting her third baby! :)

He and I had a great day together, and the place where he is staying has a beautiful rose garden.

My grandpa is hilarious, because no matter how old he grows, he's still got the old Italian attitude. I took this picture of him taking a call from my uncle, while we were in the rose garden. This sums him up:Photobucket All business! :)

Things at work are still very busy, but I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would! I think this is because I'm using excel more efficiently and its made my job of tracking all the participants (Over 800 as of today) much easier! I just love it when technology works for me!

I've been trying to keep up with all my regular reads, but please forgive me if I don't comment as often over the next couple weeks!
