A Wonderful Movie

Last night, B and I saw Secretariat, and we absolutely loved it! Like most people, we knew some of the story going into the movie, but the film goes into greater detail about Penny Chenery, and her journey to victory with her horse Big Red (Secretariat). This is such an uplifting story, and so perfectly cast. The costumes were also just wonderful! I love vintage fashion, so I was in heaven! My favorite character, Lucian Laurin, was played by John Malkovich. Lucian was Secretariat's trainer, and a real character. He wore the craziest clothes! He followed his instincts, even when it seemed risky. Malkovich and Diane Lane made an excellent onscreen duo. In fact, when a movie is cast as well as this one, it just makes it so much more enjoyable to watch, more realistic in a way. Fred Thompson was also in the movie, and I've always been a fan of his.Today is a really big day for college football fans in Michigan. At 3:30, Michigan State University (the greatest school and team ever) will play the University of Michigan (a not so cool school or team). Both teams are undefeated the season, so this is a huge deal. I switched shifts with a co-worker today so she could attend a wedding. I did this before i checked the darn football schedule....won't be making that mistake again. So, I'm leaving here at 3:00, and heading over to our friend's house to watch the game. I can't even really talk about it anymore, because I'm getting so nervous. Go Green!

I love the movie too! Nick and I both agreed the best scenes were the amazing close up race shots. Just not something you see in a normal race.
