My beloved boss is retiring at the end of the month. I will miss her so much, as she is the kindest person I know. Today's "thankful" posting is two-fold. I am eternally thankful that I've had the opportunity to work with my boss, and I'm also thankful that I get to plan her retirement party! I've ordered two tortes already, and this weekend, I will shop for a gift, order sandwiches, and purchase party supplies. Our staff loves cooking and baking, so I imagine there will be lots of delicious treats for the party.
She loves flowers and always have some fresh flowers in her office. I think the most appropriate gift would be a beautiful crystal vase from our staff. I will be shopping at Macy's, Neiman Marcus, and Sak's this weekend to find just the perfect one! I just hope I don't run into too many holiday shoppers!

Oooo fun! I love planning parties!
So, so hard to say good-bye to a wonderful boss, but so wonderful to have had the opportunity to be mentored by such a person. xoxo
Have fun shopping over at Somerset. You forgot to mention a trip over to Tiffany's. I am sure you will find a nice crystal piece there! I'm sure Somerset is getting pretty crazy w/the Holiday's right around the corner! I doubt even attempt to make a trip while we are in town over Xmas, unless the Gucci tote I want is in stock?!?!
Sounds like you are planning a lovely party for your boss! I hope she has a wonderful retirement.
