Valentine's Day

I sort of skipped over Christmas this year. We celebrated, of course, both at home in Michigan, and also while I was in Naples with my family. However, I was out of town most of December, so I didn't decorate (not even a tree or wreath in sight!), didn't wrap the gifts for my husband, didn't even bake. I'm terrible, I know. I've been a little more into Valentine's Day this year, and I think it's probably due to the fact that I virtually skipped out on Christmas. I did send cards, though a few I'd addressed and not mailed fell under the seat of my car, and were sent late. Major fail.

Pinterest is such a great source for so many different things (photos of other people's kids, however, do not belong on there and it's getting on my nerves....another post entirely), including really fun Valentine's Day printables and recipes!

This is my favorite downloadable card, I even bought a little tool to curve the edges...I'm out of control...lol.

This is my other favorite, because my mom used to sing this song to my sister and me when we were growing up.

Who doesn't love chocolate covered pretzels?
This idea would also work on brownies....which you could cut out with a heart shaped cookie cutter....
I think these are pretty impressive. I love making these cookies for Christmas, so why not now too?
I hope to make some Valentine's Day cards to send to my close friends and family, and I'd also love to make a few special treats too! Let's just hope I can find the time! My husband and I don't spend a lot of money for Valentine's Day. We just try to do something small and thoughtful. He bought me a Groupon for car washes this year, and I couldn't be happier! I almost bought it for myself, then I got the email he had purchased it. Great minds, right? I put together a nice first aid kit for him. He travels for work and cut himself last weekend. I felt so badly for him, especially because he had to hunt down a band aid! Now he has a whole kit with every possible thing he might need in the future. Practical gifts are often the best, I say! How do you and your loved ones celebrate? Will you be spoiled?

We try not to do much... Something simple like last year he made me dinner... and this year I just want him to take me to the movie The Vow because he never watches girlie movies with me. We also made a pact to not buy each other presents... & that is just they way I like it (=
