Flower Girl Dress

Here is the dress from J.Crew that my cousin/Flower Girl will be wearing come October! I am completely obsessed with this dress. Isn't that bow just darling? Also, I think its very age appropriate for a 5 year old. Some of the dresses are too mature. This dress is on sale right now, so therefore its a final sale. Well, we were unsure of which size Julianna would need. Luckily, when my aunt called the store (the 800-line person said there were no expections and no exchanges/returns), a personal shopper said there would be no problem with ordering two sizes and returning whichever didn't fit her. I am so excited! I had emailed my aunt a few styles I liked and said this was my favorite of the three. Well, Miss Julianna said this was her favorite too. Lucky me! She is just such a doll and will be the most adorable flower girl! I can't wait!

Here we are on Thanksgiving, 2008: My sister (and MOH), Gina, Julianna and me!

I found my dress!

And I paid for it! So its official! I will post a picture here, but not one of me in it, because I don't want B to see.

I actually think it looks little better in person on me, because I'm really hourglass and it flatters. Darn models and their perfectly skinny bodies!

For any future reference, I learned three valuable lessons through this experience:

1. Don't be afraid to try on things you wouldn't expect to like.
2. Set a "final deadline". Otherwise every time you go, you'll find something you love and get too overwhelmed.
3. If you find something you like, do whatever it takes to try it on. I had to drive two hours today to buy this dress. I went for something completely different, and it was worth it! I found the perfect dress on me!

Check out this site. I'm leaning toward some of these bridesmaid gowns. I highly recommend this line, Enzoani. Great prices and great quality.

I'm off to help B build some closets! Good night!

Wedding Preparations

I know I said I'd post more about dress shopping, but I'm going to wait until November to post my final decision. The dress I posted about here is still in the running, but I plan to check out a trunk show featuring Blue by Enzoani to be certain I've chosen the perfect dress! My friend, A, said that the dress sets the whole tone of the wedding, and I couldn't agree more!

Here are some pictures of my two favorite designs:

These gowns are more "bridal" than the Lazaro gown I like. I have 13 months to go, so I'm going to take my time. The images are from Best Bridal Prices, which carries many brands at a discounted rate.

Last night, B and I had our first meeting with the priest at our Parish. We decided to join the National Shrine of the Little Flower, also known as Tour de Church week two. I am really excited about the whole preparation process that Shrine offers. We will meet several times with the priest, and also attend some retreats and seminars. Father said he will make this a "challenging and fun" process and I am so glad! I want to be challenged and I hope that through that B and I grow closer and learn more about our relationship. Its kind of sad to explain to the Father about our family histories of multiple divorces on both sides. I just want us to be learn from our families and create a lasting bond. Every time I start to worry about the dress, the reception, or anything else wedding related, I try to stop myself and picture life with B now and imagine our lives together in the future. I picture us older, but still bonded partners. I think this pre-marriage process will help us in that journey.
