Tour de Church, Day Two

Shrine

So we attended Mass Sunday at the National Shrine of the Little Flower. What an amazing place! I have driven past, I don't know how many times, but had never been inside! It is what is called "in the round" which means there is seating all around the alter. It also means there is a much shorter aisle than I had imagined. I can probably get over that to have our wedding in such a beautiful place! I also feel very much "at home" there and would like to make this our Parish as well. It's only 5-10 minutes from our home.

The greatest thing happened when we were leaving Mass. We decided to walk around the grounds (which are stunning) and take in all the views. As we were walking through a garden, B pointed to a couple sitting on a bench. The man was on his knee holing the girl's hands in his. B said, "I think he's proposing" and sure enough he was! I feel like that was the sign I needed to make Shrine (or Little Flower as B calls it) out Parish and the site for our wedding. I feel such relief and even more excitement!
