Book Review

Okay, here's the deal, I read ALL of Bethenny Frankel's book Naturally Thin, and I found it to be worth it....sort of. Listen, I LOVE Bethenny, and I really enjoyed the way her book was written. The narrative of the book is like listening to Bethenny talk. I liked that.

The book is dived into two parts. The first part states and explains Bethenny rules. They're simple rules, though (as I've recently been learning in the book I'm currently reading) "simple" doesn't really mean the same thing as "easy". The rules include: Your diet is a bank account, so keep it balanced, Cancel your membership to the "Clean Plate Club", You can have it all, just not all at once, Taste everything, eat nothing, Keep it real, and my personal favorite, Check yourself before you wreck yourself (not that this is really an issue for me or anything...). There are ten rules in all, but what it really boils down to is that you need to have self control and a lot of it to be naturally thin

The second portion of the book includes a break down of a typical week on the Naturally Thin program. She shows the reader how to eat basically all types of food without over-doing it. She then gives an exact account of what she's eaten for, I think three or four days?. There are also tons of recipes and cute little tid bits!

My only issue with the book is that I read the whole thing to learn that I can eat foods I like in moderation. Well, I already knew that! I do think its worth it for the recipes. However, I do believe she's writing an actual cookbook that might be more worth the money! I checked Naturally Thin out of the library. I'm glad I didn't buy it.

Now onto another book! "The Book"!
I'm actually still waiting for this one to arrive! When I went into our library's shared system catalogue, all five (yes, its a hot seller! Lol!) copies were either checked out or "On Hold" already! Fret not, I put my hold at the top of the list!

Meanwhile, I'm really enjoying Julie and Julia: This is seriously a good book. The only issue I have is that she hates on the Republicans she works with! I mean, I work with mostly Dems, and I can handle it! Haha! I'm really just kidding around! I cannot wait to see the movie! Click here to view the trailer! Bon Appetit!

"The Book" is sold out at Amazon! I want to read it! I will have to check my library. I thought the book might be too scandalous for a library to carry it, but maybe not! Thanks for the tip! You are right Naturally Thin didn't tell me things that I didn't already know, but it does have good recipes!

Thanks for the review! I just came from the bookstore where I had Style A to Zoe and Naturally Thin in my hands for an hour - I then put them back cause I'm tired of reading these books to find out I already knew what's in them... I might read them later on though...

hey there Princess Freckles.

I read the book too and drew the same conclusions that you did- good *reminders* but there wasn't anything that was soul-shaking; her cookbook would be something I'd buy though.

did like the *no duh* statement about if you had carbs at one meal, the next needs to be lean protein and produce.
