Cookies!

Last night I was quite the little chef! For dinner I sauteed onion, a few cloves of garlic, and red and orange peppers with turkey sausage (more like a turkey braut) and served it over pasta with fresh parmesan. B loved this meal and we enjoyed it outside (it was a nice night, no rain!) with my signature salad.*

After we finished dinner, I set out to make June's Cookie of the Month in the Martha Stewart Living magazine. They are amazing! Today is my boss's birthday, and I thought it would be nice to bring in a little treat for her (and the rest of our department).

I plan to make another batch tonight. Tomorrow, I'm going to my friend's house for a little girl's night, and I know that they'll love these cookies! They're actually more like really sweet strawberry biscuits. I emailed my friend, A, to tell her my plan to bring them over and she responded that "there's always room for cookies with our little crew". Which is so very true!

My grandfather, Peppino, was home recently from the hospital, but had to go back in two weeks ago. He was then transferred to another rehab, but today he's going back into the regular hospital. I'm going to visit him tonight after work. Please say a prayer for him. I spoke to him last night and he sounded fine, but said he's really lonely. My mother called me this morning to tell me of the move and also to explain that he has a temperature and is feeling really anxious. I think all the medication is making him feel anxious, but the doctors don't know why he has a fever. He is on some strong antibiotics, so hopefully the fever will break today. I'm just praying that he starts to feel for comfortable. there's nothing worse than feeling anxious and lonely in a strange place! Hopefully, my sister and I can visit together and spend a few hours with him this evening. I appreciate any prayers, or positive thoughts sent his way!

*Signature Salad:
Mixed Greens sprinkled with dried oregeano and tossed with olive oil. Add in dried cherries, feta, a handful of chopped walnuts and toss with Balsamic Vinegar. Seriously easy and seriously good!
