Last Friday, we were scheduled to attend a Detroit Tiger's game. The weather was awful (raining, muggy, more rain), but we went anyway. because it was still raining, we decided to head up to the Tiger Club and see if we could get a table. We didn't have a reservation, but we lucked out and found a table in the bar area. We decided to have dinner there (they offer a beautiful buffet, and also a menu. We had the buffet.) While we were eating, the game was cancelled! It was rescheduled for Sunday night.
The weather Sunday was perfect, and we had a great time! I had a hot dog and fries, and enjoyed seeing a winning game! B also bought me the cutest Detroit Tiger's cap. I normally don't even bother with baseball caps, because they look terrible on me. This hat looked great! I'm so glad I found it, because it's taken me 27 years to find a cap that didn't make my huge head look bigger! I'm thrilled!
Here I am during the game:
The building in the background that almost looks like its missing a few windows that were filled in with bricks is the Detroit Athletic Club, and right near there is also the Detroit Opera House, where I've seen many ballets performed. Comerica Park is great because its located in an area of Detroit that has many restaurants and attractions. Ford Field (where the Lion's play) is right behind Comerica Park. It was also built recently and is a really nice facility. I don't normally plan an evening in Detroit unless we're attending a game or the ballet, but when we do head downtown, we are in this area. Detroit has a terrible reputation, and with good reason. Most of it is pretty dumpy and dangerous to be honest, which is why I stick to the area where I live when I go out. I'm glad that the area around the ballpark and football field is being maintained though, because spending a day in the city is really fun for a change! I hope we can see another Tiger's game this season!

Well let's see this hat!!!
Fun, fun! I love going to Cardinals games with my husband.
I'll bet that was a fun day. And I don't usually look good in baseball hats either. Glad you finally found a keeper! We moved away from the Detroit area right before they built the new ball park. The last Tiger's game I saw was at Tiger Stadium. Go Tigers!
I don't know if you've been there or not but the Midtown/Eastern Market area is also kept up well. The Market is fabulous on Saturdays
Great post! If only those Tigers could get back in 1st place! Glad to hear you had a nice time despite the weather! Go Tigers! Great view of the DAC.
Have fun at the sidewalk sale in GP...if you go! You should, b/c I won't be in town to go! HA! HA! HA!
