Another Season Gone

I'm always sad when Mad Men ends for the season, because it feel like I have to wait forever for the next season to begin. This season has been amazing, and the finale (while not as intense as last season's finale), did not disappoint.

I was a little surprised when Don proposed to Megan, but after thinking about it, I think they make sense as a couple. She is the opposite of Betty in many ways, yet just as beautiful. She's so much warmer, and way more laid back with the kids, which is something they crave. The scene a few episodes back where Sally runs into Megan's arms sobbing really showed how much she craves affection, touch, and comfort. Megan seems a natural to provide that. I do feel awful for Dr. Faye. She was not expecting news that Don was engaged to another woman. How heartbreaking.

My favorite scene was when Joan and Peggy have a little "vent" session in Joan's office:

I really love these two as allies. Also, I totally called that Joan kept her baby! I told my husband weeks ago!

They do make a striking couple:

I am a huge Betty fan. I know she's a miserable B, but I think her character is what makes this show excellent television. When she directs her anger at Don, she is justified in my opinion, because for most of this season he was a wreck and not the best parent. If you're too wasted to know what day it is and miss a visitation day with your kids, you're not really a successful parent. Though on the trip to California, a sober Don was an ideal Dad.

I hope Betty can find some happiness. It seems her husband is tiring of her erratic behavior. her dynamic is the same in this marriage as with Don: he's an adult and she behaves like a teenager.

I want Don and Betty back together. Call me weird, but I do. The trip to Rome they took...*sigh.* They are the most beautiful couple. The Megan/Don thing is just a little too weird for me. She is very patient and affectionate, but very young. Perhaps a great "babysitter." LOL! Just my opinion.

I hated the way Don broke Dr. Faye's heart. I liked her, too (Still want Don with Betty.).

I am so sad the season is over. In fact, I have no idea what I am going to watch on Sunday night. "Mad Men" was the highlight of my weekend.

By the way, I loved the Joan (I knew she kept that baby.) and Peggy scene. Classic.

When does the next season begin? Do you know? :)

I LOVED that scene with Peggy and Joan too. For once those two let down their guards and "kept it real."

My exact thoughts! I loved the scene with Peggy and Joan as well and I also totally knew she had kept the baby! I am hoping that her husband makes it back from war safely and that the baby can smooth out their relationship. I thought the proposal was a fantasy, I was so confused! And I also expected more of a rise out of Roger considering Don gave him such a hard time for marrying his secretary.

I really need to catch up on my Mad Men! I don't think either Betty or Don were (are) good parents and it's saddening :( Love Betty's clothes though.. ha!

I need to start watching this. I've heard so many good things about it. I'm thinking about using my Netflix to start from season 1!

Hope you're doing well! :)
